LENTIL CURRY(Dhal Curry)

INGREDIENTS

Lentils 1/2 Cups
Ginger Small piece
Green Chilli 1
(Cook the above)
Shallots 5
Garlic 5 flakes
(Crushed the above)
Chilli flakes ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
Curry leaf 1 sprig
Cilantro few
Oil 1tsp

METHOD

1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a heavy pan add the crushed ingredients cook till caramel colour, reduce flame add turmeric, chilli flakes and curry leaves .
2. Add the cooked lentil mixture and salt to taste .
3. Serve hot garnish with finely chopped cilantro

( A knob of butter or a tsp of ghee added to the prepared dhal curry gives a rich flavour
