Kerala Prawn Curry

Kerala Prawn Curry

Prawns ¼ Pound
Marinate with crushed ginger

Shallots 5
Green chilly 1
Ginger a small piece
Garlic 2 flakes
Slice the above

Chilly powder 1tsp
Coriander powder 1/2tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4tsp
Salt 1/2tsp
Water 1/2cup
Soak the above
Coconut oil 1tbsp
Black mustard seeds 1/2tsp
Curry leaves 1sprig
Coconut milk 1/2cup
Green mango few pieces
Mango can be substituted with tomato


Heat oil in a clay pot, add the mustard, wait for it to pop, add curry leaves, the sliced ingredients, fry till soft, add the soaked masala, reduce flame, cook till oil separates, add 1/2cup water, the mangos, cook till soft, finally add the prawns, cook for 3to 4 minutes, covered. Turn off the flame
finish with the coconut milk.
